“I find silence when I can breathe deeply. When I am conscious that I am breathing, there are moments when my breathing fuses with the sound of birds chirping and cicadas making their noise and the sound of trees around me swaying in the wind – there is silence. Same with the moment I press in the needle with the thread, in each sewing movement, my breathing calls in the silence hiding in all the nature around me.”

自身の呼吸が深いとき。呼吸をしていると意識できたとき、周囲から聴こえる小鳥の囀りや蝉の鳴き声、木立が風に揺れる音が飛び交っているなかに自身の呼吸が溶けていく瞬間、静寂が生まれている。一針を刺し入れる瞬間も、呼吸が周りの自然に潜む静寂を呼んでくる。私の静寂は、物静かなことではない。
